THE COMMISSION PROCESS
We'll start with a conversation to talk about your vision. I'll ask questions about your goals for your space, canvas size, color palette, etc. Whether you know exactly what you want or have no idea, we can talk it out together. After our discussion, I'll send you a quote followed by a deposit invoice for half the cost.
PAINT, PAINT, PAINT
I'll start by creating your color palette made from handmade earth pigments, ink, acrylic, oil stick & graphite on raw canvas. I'll also create a small study of your painting from those materials. We'll work together to tweak these before starting the larger piece.
While creating your painting, I'll send over progress photos and you'll have the opportunity to give feedback. Two optional rounds of revisions are included in the commission process. If you are not satisfied with your painting during this process, the final amount will not be invoiced. Deposits are not refundable.
WRAP IT UP
After the paint dries, I'll send you a photograph of the completed piece. Once you approve, I'll varnish your painting and send over the final invoice. All payments at this stage of the commission process are non-refundable. I'll then prepare your painting for optional framing and professionally package it for shipping or local delivery.
OPTION TO DEEPEN THE PROCESS
LAND MEMORY COMMISSIONS
Is there a place that holds special meaning for you? You also have the option of including your own rocks or other natural materials from a particular landscape (I'll work with you to help you find the good stuff).
I'll grind and distill what you send me into earth pigments, create a palette to compliment the natural beauty, and then use that to create your painting. This process deepens your painting's connection to the land and the memories it holds for you.
